The objective of this project is to integrate environmental issues into ecological modeling in the Oresund region in order to improve basic knowledge for students from universities. Today, educated candidates with ecological modelling backgrounds are highly demanded by individual institutes. However, ecological modelling deals with a complex system and needs comprehensive knowledge to properly describe the property of a real ecosystem. It therefore becomes a tough challenge to widely use this knowledge. AKVAMOD opens a new area and makes it possible to establish a modelling center with emphasis of education and improvement of understanding ecological technologies for the ecological modelling spread among research and education institutes as well as private companies across the Oresund area.
