4-step method in practice – a LundaMaTs project
LundaMaTs is the municipal strategy for a sustainable transport system for Lund 2030. The aim is to reduce the need of motorised individual transports. To achieve this Lund is trying out a new method. By (1) influence choice of mode towards more walking, biking and use of public transport, (2) more efficient usage of existing roads and transports and (3) minor readjustments, one can avoid large investments in (4) new infrastructure. Working close with different stakeholders is important.

Young Ideas for Europe
The Young Ideas for Europe initiative are giving young people from across the European Union the opportunity to play an active role in the European decision making process. In 2009 and 2010, more than 1,000 young people from all over Europe will formulate a common “Action Plan: New Energy for Europe” and hand it over to the Swedish and Spanish EU-presidencies.
The core of the initiative is a 4-day workshop, during which young people will debate and develop their ideas for energy policy and climate change together with guidance from experts from across the political spectrum, as well as participants in other European countries. The Young Ideas for Europe school in Sweden is Spyken Upper Secondary School in Lund.

Education and Sustainability Magazine – Sverige
ES Sverige is a new magazine targeting educators in all levels and sectors as well as people interested in teaching the values, behaviours and lifestyles needed for sustainability.
The ES initiative was launched in 2007 in Barcelona by one of the regional centres of expertise in education for sustainability recognised by the United Nations University (RCE Barcelona). After its success in Spain, and in collaboration with various Swedish organisations (UNESCO Sweden, RCE Skåne, Teknikdalen Foundation, Keep Sweden Tidy, SWEDESD, Expeditionsverige.se, Global Action Plan and WWF among others), a Swedish version of the magazine has been developed. A website and an international version is under development.
