The musical is entitled ‘Pärlornas Sånger’. It is based on the latest book of the well-known bishop Martin Lönnebo. After his death in 2023, musician Helena Ritzén converted the book and its lyrics into a musical. Since a line in the book was referencing a recent interview with Christine published in Svenska Dagbladet, she was included as a character in the musical. The musical was performed in June and September 2023 in Linköping cathedral.
– The character Christine Wamsler introduces the musical to create the knowledge base and context for what Martin Lönnebo deeply cared about: our planet and all beings; their vulnerability, but also how we can move forward together by nurturing more relational and regenerative mindsets, cultures and structures, says Helena Ritzén.
– After my presentation during the North European Cathedral Conference this year, a participant approached me because she knew me from the musical. First, I did not believe her. I had no idea!, says Christine with a laugh.
The musical will be performed again in February 2025 as part of a three-day symposium in honor of bishop Martin Lönnebo's life and work. This time, Christine Wamsler will not only have the chance to watch the performance, she will also present her research as part of the symposium.
