Fika for a Livable Future: Knowledge, Community and Climate Action
Our Climate Café facilitate conversations about and collaboration on climate related topics and empower everyday thoughts and actions towards sustainable futures. Together we will explore what makes us worried, angry, inspired and hopeful, as we navigate an increasingly complex world.
Did you know that worry and guilt become more manageable when shared, and that climate cafés can reduce isolation and increase hopefulness? We believe that learning how to live–and thrive–in times of ecological crises is shared. We also do not underestimate the power of fika in that process.
Climate cafés have taken roots across the globe as a response to climate change and the palette of emotions it brings with it. Social media and news outlets are catalysts for (in)action. They inspire and inform, and they leave us overwhelmed and worried. Community-led, open, and inclusive, climate cafés bring people together across communities to facilitate conversations about and support action towards climate change and sustainability.
Practical information
The Climate Café will be facilitated by students from the Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science Master’s programme at Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS).
The Café is open for everyone. No expertise or previous knowledge is needed to participate. We encourage your interests to take roots and lead the conversations, however, questions, prompts, and topics will be provided – as well as fika: tea, coffee, and a (vegan) snack!
