Webinar: Complicated Plastics - A Focus on Menstrual Waste

Join us for an engaging webinar featuring research findings from the Complicated Plastics Project, a film screening, and a policy dialogue with stakeholders and decision-makers from Kenya. At the heart of the event is Taboo Waste, a short film set in Kisumu that follows the sanitation workers who empty pit latrines, and shows how menstrual waste is making their work harder, heavier, and more stigmatised.

After the film screening, we will convene a policy dialogue with panellists including representatives from the Kisumu City Government, the Kenya Ministry of Health, the Global Menstrual Collective, academics and local workers.

Together, we will discuss what it will take to make this work visible, dignified, and safe. We warmly invite practitioners, researchers, advocates, and policymakers to attend and contribute to the conversation.
