Viggo has a bachelor's in political science from Södertörns högskola and a master's in the same field from Stockholm University.. He wrote his thesis on local coastal climate adaptation policy in three Scanian municipalities.

He is working with Emily Boyd on the ITHACA and ICARUS project. The ITHACA project focuses on immobile communities in coastal areas exposed to the effects of climate change. ICARUS is about climate adaptation justice, comparing adaptation practitioners in the UK and Sweden.
