LUCSUS announces three new Associate senior lectureship (tenure track) positions in Sustainability Science

Associate senior lecturer in Sustainability Science: Geographies of Sustainability  (link to the announcement at lu.varbi.com)

The applicant should have an interdisciplinary background with a focus on natural science and methods. The position focuses on the geographical aspects of sustainability, but as interdisciplinarity is a vital part of sustainability science and LUCSUS teaching, academic breath is considered a strong merit. Teaching will focus on broad geographical approaches to sustainability, a diverse range of quantitative methods, and solid theoretical knowledge and competence in teaching subjects such as earthsystem science, land use change, climate change, biodiversity, and water. The candidate will have the ability to infuse LUCSUS with new methodologies, as well as to lead on connecting different researchers with enthusiasm for engagement in new and emerging areas such as place-based research and connections to big data, as well as communication and outreach.In addition to teaching the applicant should have experience of running and developing courses as well as thesis supervision. Merit is also given to having developed and received research grants.

Associate senior lecturer in Sustainability Science: Social Science of Sustainability  (link to the announcement at lu.varbi.com)

The applicant should have an interdisciplinary profile with a track record of working in environmental, ecological or climate related areas using perspectives encompassing a variety of theoretical entry points such as for example environmental sociology, political ecology and STS (Science, Technology and Society).Emphasis will be put on pedagogical experience and skills, including experience of teaching theoretical contributions and novel approaches to sustainability science (could include feminist, decolonial approaches or developing emotional and relational capacities) and qualitative and mixed methods.In addition to teaching, the applicant should have experience of course design, programme development and thesis supervision. Merit is also given to having developed, received, led, and coordinated research grants.

Associate senior lecturer in Sustainability Science: Social Science of Climate Change (link to the announcement at lu.varbi.com)

The applicant should have an interdisciplinary profile with a focus on social science and methods. The position focuses on the social science aspects of climate change, but as interdisciplinarity is a vital part of sustainability science and LUCSUS teaching, academic breadth is considered a strong merit. Teaching will focus on the societal dimensions of climate change, with emerging areas of climate/energy justice, governance, storytelling/arts, digitalisation, technologies and transdisciplinary qualitative methods, and innovation in teaching central to sustainability transitions and transformations.In addition to teaching, the applicant should have experience of course design, programme development and thesis supervision. Merit is also given to having developed, received, led, and coordinated research grants.
