POLLEN CONFERENCE 2024
The Political Ecology Network conference (POLLEN24) is set to take place between 10-12 June 2024 and will be held simultaneously across three locations in Lima (Peru), Dodoma (Tanzania) and Lund (Sweden).
The unfolding and entwined social-ecological crises make the challenge of how to move towards more plural and just futures more pressing than ever. Political ecology provides an important toolbox to explore the unjust and colonial power relations that condition global flows of material resources, money, ideas and people. Yet, the field itself is shaped by inequalities when it comes to the engagement of researchers from different locations, the distribution of research resources and how different ways of knowing and being are circulated, represented and recognised.
The POLLEN24 conference aims to provide a platform to discuss these and other issues by organising a distributed, yet connected, conference with physical hubs in Peru, Tanzania and Sweden.
In Lund, Sweden, POLLEN24 is hosted by the local POLLEN node comprising people from the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS).
The conference will take place at the main campus of Lund University located in the city of Lund, which is 15 minutes by train from Malmö and less than an hour from Copenhagen.
